PVCu Window Features

1. Highly durable PVCu
Constructed with 3-chambers, the profile allows separate drainage and reinforcement. All frames measure 70mm from front to back allowing the replacement of traditional 3" timber frames with the minimum of 'making good' remedial work. The PVCu system is also bevelled to provide a slimmer, more attractive look. Manufactured to BS 7413, the British Standards for PVCu window extrusions, the profile carries a full 10-year guarantee against discolouration and degradation.
2. Internal beading
Unlike many windows, Rehau 70mm is internally beaded. This means that the beading that secures the glass into place is located on the inside of the frame & can't be removed from the outside - helping to make Rehau 70mm one of the most secure systems on the market.
3. Fully welded frame
Many window frames are manufactured with the PVCu lengths mechanically joined. This 'nuts and bolts' method can often lead to the frame being less strong. Water can find its way into joints and extreme temperatures can cause points of weakness.
With Rehau 70mm, all joints are welded. This means that the window is a homogeneous structure, providing integral strength to the frame.
4. Shootbolt locks
The solid, bi-directional locking bolts anchor the opener securely into the top and bottom of the frame to ensure that the vent receives all-round protection.
The shootbolt is manufactured from high quality steel, protected with a galvanised zinc coating and chromatised for additional protection and maximum operational life.
5. Espagnolette rollers
Up to 4 adjustable rollercams operate by pulling the opener and providing compression to ensure a secure and effective weatherseal all around the window.
6. One-piece keeps
The one-piece corner keeps provide excellent location for the rollercam and shootbolt, securing the opener to the outer frame. They also come with a 'night-vent' position as standard, ensuring ventilation whilst the window is locked.
7. High security hinges
Commonly seen as a weak spot to the would-be intruder, the unique high security hinge is fixed to both the vertical and horizontal axis of the PVCu. Coupled with this, the metal end-cap has been designed to guide the locking point into place providing a firm weathertight seal and a barrier to forced entry time after time. All hinges are tested to over 20,000 cycles (the equivalent of 55 years' use) and meet the requirements for BS 7412 for corrosion resistance, so high performance is guaranteed.
8. Auto-locking handle
The Premier T70 window handle has a modern, stylish shape with solid grip and oval button recess for easy use. The handle click locks the frame in place and can be further secured by the key. Manufactured from durable zinc alloy, the handle is subjected to rigorous tests and is made to the relevant British Standards.
9. 28mm double-glazing
The Premier T70 window holds 28mm double-glazing units offering a generous 20mm air-gap to improve thermal and noise insulation as well as combating condensation.
10. Galvanised steel reinforcement
In areas deemed necessary, Premier T70 frames are reinforced with galvanised steel. As well as providing extra strength in wind-loading situations, the steel reinforcement stops any expansion or contraction problems that may otherwise occur in the future. All Premier T70 woodgrain products come fully reinforced as standard.
11. Corrosion resistant fixings
As with all hardware on the Premier T70 window, even the fixings are guaranteed against corrosion for a full 10 years. The screws are tested for 500 hours in a salt spray chamber to ensure their quality. This is seven times longer than the requirements for BS 7412 - the British Standard for PVCu window construction.
12. Locking wedge
Fitted at the hinge side of the windows over a certain size, the locking wedge ensures a smooth operation and a complete seal each time the window is closed.
13. Weatherproof gasket
The seal surrounding the frame and double glazing offers excellent weatherability as well as good sightlines, reducing the 'black-line' effect.
